Located in Istanbul’s Çamlıtepe neighborhood, within the Atatürk Urban Forest, The Rare Forest Science Hub serves as a center for forest conservation, research, and public awareness. Spanning 15,000 m², the site is naturally enclosed by dense trees, with the Istanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry positioned directly across. It sits 3 km from the Tarabya and Kireçburnu shoreline, between Darüşşafaka and Hacıosman metro stations, and is well-connected to Büyükdere Street, linking Levent and Sarıyer.
The project aims to combat forest fires, ecological degradation, and biodiversity loss caused by climate change and urbanization. Its program consists of a Forest Research Institute, Museum, and Foundation, each playing a vital role in protecting and sustaining forests. The museum enhances public awareness and engagement, the foundation supports community-driven initiatives, and the research institute advances scientific studies, offering solutions to environmental challenges while sharing insights globally.
